Massage

The Therapist/Practitioner and you will choose the massage to fit your requirements and enhance the benefits of your fitness program.

Swedish
Long soothing, relaxing strokes, kneading and friction on more superficial layers of muscles.

Deep Tissue
Slow strokes and deep finger pressure on tight areas. Reaches deeper layers of muscle tissue.

Shiatsu/Acupressure
Asian-based systems of finger pressure that treat special points along invisible energy channels believed to flow through the body.

Sports
Invigorating strokes with more emphasis on deep compression, deep pressure, deep cross-fiber friction and joint movement.

Cranio-sacral
Gentle technique for finding and correcting cerebral and spinal imbalances or blockage.

Neuromuscular
Applies concentrated finger pressure to "trigger points" - painful, irritated areas in muscles to break cycles of spasm and pain.

Reflexology
Massaging specific points on the feet that correspond to individual parts of the body.

Myofascial Release
Slow deep process (not to be confused with Deep Tissue) of releasing facia (fibrous tissue) around the muscle.

Hot Stone
Working in harmony, when placed on specific points on the body and using various massage techniques, warm stones relax the body to its deepest level dissolving stress, creating a positive energy flow.

Acupuncture
An important component of ancient Chinese medicine and clinical techniques, that deals with prevention and treatment of disease by pricking the skin or tissue with needles.

*If you have any injury, illness or contraindication, please consult your physician and advise your Therapist/Practitioner before receiving massage or acupuncture.

Enhancing your Massage

Prepare for your session by coming a few minutes early for your appointment.  A robe and towel will be provided for you.  A key will be issued at check-in so you may keep your clothing safely in a locker.

A warm shower and a nice relaxing steam, sauna or spa work wonders just before a massage.

Keep in mind, this is your massage, so make it a wonderful experience.  If either the pressure or the quality of the therapist's touch in any way makes you feel uncomfortable, please do not hesitate to let him/her know.  No one knows your body as well as you do.
